Make a cast into the White...

River, just out from Newlands Lodge. We even have our own private area, located about 3/4 mile downstream from Newlands, and is right in Cane Island Shoal--perfect for fly-fishing.

For those who like to FLY FISH, we can try to match you up with a guide versed in fly fishing who will take you to the fish and give you the right fly (scuds, sowbugs, wolly bugers) to use...the catch'in is up to you.

It didn't take long for Gary Thornburg...

to hook one. Gary is a local guide. All methods available, changing methods as water flow dictates. Some types of flies used here are dry flies (coachman, elk hair caddis, parachute dun types; also terrestrials such as black ant, fly ant, black cricket, hoppers of all sorts); emergers (scuds, sow bugs, shrimp imitations, beat head varieties of nymphs); streamers (matukas, clowser minnows, woolly burgers, shad imitation minnows).
